Graphic Designer / Visual Artist Shunta Sakamoto designs visual expression and the algorithms and systems that generate it as an integrated whole. His work spans visual identities built around custom tools and interactive artworks that respond to bodily movement. Moving between graphic design and technology, he explores the relationship between visual expression and the body through acts of touching, moving, and playing visual forms like instruments. Selected works and projects include No Ha Sho (Hakuhodo, 2024), the visual identity for the performing arts festival Autumn Meteorite (Tokyo, 2025), the graphic performance instrument Modular Graphic Synthesizer (deTour, Hong Kong, 2025), and Gen Zome Washi “Raku Hitsu” (TAKEO PAPER SHOW 50, 2026). He also develops Compo, software for creating interactive graphics. Born in 1993, Sakamoto graduated from Musashino Art University and worked at Hakuhodo before establishing his independent practice. He heads PlayGraphics Inc. and co-leads NEW Creators Club.
